CMA Rallye

Exhibition Installation, 2003

CMA, the Central Marketing Organization of German Agricultural Industries, aims to establish business contacts between German exporters and foreign importing companies.
At their exhibitions they invite the visitors to give proof of their skills in a Ralley. Directed by a Live-Moderator, six players navigate a virtual ball through all steps of the QS-system (Quality and Safety for Food Products): feeding stuff, producer, slaughter/processing, retail, consumer. Since each player can only apply force to the ball in one direction, only with team spirit and collective leadership the ball reaches its goal.

When I began to work on this shockwave-3D application I thought I had a simple, nearly 'boring' game to do. But after getting the very first photograph from the exhibition, my opinion changed completely: what a beautiful installation!

Months after the first launch I got an email, quoting the technical person, who is caring about all the exhibitions: "Plugging in on the first day, leaving it running for 9 days, tering down at the end. And inbetween it kept on attrackting people over and over again."
