CD-Rom, 1997
The Austian National Bank is the pillar of the Austrian financial system,
but very few people actually knwo what is done there. To demystify the
Austrian National Bank and to make their activities more transparent
we developed a communication-strategy which focused on reducing the
distance between the Austrain National Bank and the public.
Based on this strategy we created an application that gives access to
a variety of information in a way that is both ecudational and entertaining
at the same time. While this may sound quite familiar, considering the
complexity of the content, it presented quite a challenge to our creative
team.
The application features two levels of interaction.
In the first level you are invited to join one of eight virtual conferences.
In these conferences you meet the people working at the OeNB. You will
learn everything you always wanted to know about central-banking but
were afraid to ask. From the instruments of currency policy to the secrets
of money-printing.
If you want to make instant use of your newly acquired knowledge, move
on to the second level. In eight gamelike conceptual areas you can try
your skills in fighting money.
Use the flexible navigational tools to explore the history&future part
and look up specific information in a glossary that sports over 100
entries.
Produced by Nofrontiere Design GmBH
When I think about this project, I have to remember the people that
have been at Nofrontiere that years. Great people and unforgettable
friendships. (...becoming sentimental...)
When I watch this project, I emmediately see the typical design-artwork
of Mark. This guy will get famous. (...maybe he already is famous...)
When I remember the production of this project, I remember how proud
I have been programming a CD-Rom alone for the very first time. (...except
2 small chapters which Tobi did...)
Well, it was a very nice project!
